Our mission
To raise farm incomes in the Himalayan region through quality cultivation, value addition and fair, direct marketing of medicinal and aromatic plants.
A cooperative of farmers from the Bhaderwah valley who grow, process and sell medicinal and aromatic crops together.
For generations, families in the Bhaderwah valley farmed maize and vegetables on small, sloping plots. Incomes were low and wild animals often destroyed crops. When lavender and other aromatic crops were introduced in the region, a group of farmers saw a better future and decided to grow, process and market together.
HMAP was registered as a cooperative so that farmers own the business, from the distillation unit to the brand. Today our members supply oils, hydrosols and dried herbs to customers, manufacturers and exporters across India.
